The Denver Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., was established in 1973 by Warren Alexander, Hubert L. “Hooks” Jones, John W. Mosley Jr., and others to motivate young minority individuals to aspire, seek and achieve successful careers in aviation, mathematics, engineering and aerospace. The Chapter was later renamed the Hubert L. “Hooks” Jones Chapter to commemorate the Denver aviator who died August 24, 1975.

Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., Hubert L. "Hooks" Jones Chapter is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to:

  • Honoring the accomplishments and perpetuating the history of African-Americans who participated in aircrew, ground crew and operations support training in the Army Air Corps during WWII.
  • Introducing young people across the nation to the world of aviation, aerospace, mathematics and science through local programs such as the Mile High Flight Program.
  • Providing annual scholarships and awards to deserving individuals, groups and corporations whose deeds lend support to the goals of Tuskegee Airmen Inc.
  • The Hubert L. “Hooks” Jones Chapter has sponsored the Mile High Flight Program for fifteen exciting years. The purpose of the program is to (1) Educate youth about the vast opportunities in aviation and aerospace through tours and hands on activities. (2) Provide long and short term mentoring for our students. (3) Share the rich history of the Tuskegee Airmen.

    Chapter Membership Information :

  • Regular: Any applicant willing to work toward achievement of goals, objectives and purpose of TAI.
  • Student: Applicant who is full-time student and under age of 25 interested in learning about & preserving the Tuskegee Experience.
  • Organization: Non- or for-profit organization interesting in promoting, sponsoring or supporting objectives of TAI.
  • Honorary: Applicant previously approved for honorary membership by TAI Board of Directors.
  • Life: Applicant who has been accepted and paid full fee ($750.00) for National Life Membership
  • Annual National Membership Dues:

    Regular Membership: $50

    Active Duty, Enlisted (or spouse) : $15

    Active Duty Company Grade Officer (or spouse) : $30

    Active Duty Field Grade Officer (or spouse): $50

    Student Member: $15.00

    Organizational Member :$50

    Life Members: $750, or three yearly installments of $250

    Annual Local HLHJ Chapter dues are $25.00 and shall be paid on the first day of December annually.
